Marvel’s Blood Hunt event is rapidly approaching, and to get fans hyped, the publisher has revealed new variant covers. These aptly dubbed “Fang” covers come courtesy of the event’s artist, Pepe Larraz. They will adorn the first three issues of the main series of the event. Larraz’s variant for Blood Hunt #1 spotlights none other than Marvel’s resident vampire slayer, Blade. The second issue brings Dracula’s famous fangs, while the third features Tigra and her deadly mandible.
Blood Hunt’s Fang Variants
These fun variants bring only the baring fangs of each featured character. There are five planned variants for the five issues of the main series. For now, Marvel is teasing the first three. In Blood Hunt #1, Blade’s fangs are dripping in blood that spells out his own name. The same goes for the proceeding Dracula and Tigris variants. These variants are not as flashy or jam-packed as some others. However, they still bring that element of horror to the bloody event that both excites and frightens.
Artist Pepe Larraz has made it no secret how excited he is for Blood Hunt. Specifically, the artist was drawn to the event due to the opportunity to go full terror in a vampire story. When Marvel announced a Red Band version, Larraz really delved into the horror aspects of the event. They allowed him to convey the dark, violent, and bloody tone of the story. It also let him flex muscles not often employed in making traditional superhero comics.
Blood, Blood, And More Blood
The Blood Hunt event promises to be Marvel’s goriest to date. This event sees an eternal night sinking the Marvel Universe in shadow. The vampires use this opportunity to rise out of the shadows and commit an onslaught of violence and destruction. This brings many of Marvel’s heroes to the forefront of this battle including the X-Men and Miles Morales. However, not everyone is making it out of this war unscathed. In fact, nobody is safe as the undead take a huge bite out of the Universe.
