Even with the measles outbreak, anti-vaxxers are very much spreading the propaganda against vaccines. Recently, one was spotted at a Louisiana Walgreens, taking great lengths to prevent a pregnant woman from getting vaccinated.
In a clip that has gone viral on TikTok, the middle-aged anti-vaxxer was seen confronting the pregnant woman for her choice. The video, recorded from the perspective of the expectant mother, began with the older woman asking her which vaccine she was taking.
The mom found the question invasive and warned the woman to get away from her. However, the critic only took a few steps back and continued questioning the mom why she needed a booster. In response, the mom dropped a sarcastic comment.
She said, “I take medical advice from my doctor who went to medical school and not a woman in the line who appears that she can’t take her medication according to prescription.”
The boomer continued challenging the young mom instead of backing away despite the scathing reply. She was heard saying, “Do you know the ingredients in that thing you’re putting in your body to get right into your baby’s blood? Think about what you’re doing.”
She added, “Don’t get influenced by liberalism and vaccines. That’s a new thing. That wasn’t even in my lifetime when we were pregnant.”
Before the clip cuts, the boomer is heard yelling, “I hope I make you think. Look what you’re doing to your baby.”
Soon, the video gained attention from Redditors, who raised concerns about the boomer associating science with politics. A Redditor questioned, “Why is getting vaccinated labeled “liberal”?” Another user added, “I hate how medicine and science have been politicized. It’s not (or it shouldn’t be) liberal to trust science.”
A third person lashed at the older lady for her opinion against vaccines. The person wrote, “People like her are why kids are now dying from measles. We’re rapidly regressing as a nation because people are being made skeptical about the wrong things.”
“We are so close to The Handmaid’s Tale,” a fourth Redditor added.
The viral video is particularly alarming because a few days back, an anti-vaxxer who lost his 8-year-old to measles claimed that the vaccines are not potent. As we reported, the bereaved father refused to believe that his daughter’s life could have been saved.
Instead, he suspected the vaccine was ineffective because his relatives’ children who received it became sicker afterward. Netizens blasted him for failing to acknowledge that his anti-vaccine views killed his child.
While some persons are still strongly against vaccines, the W.H.O. has recorded over 378 recent cases of measles outbreaks. Now more than ever, every means of prevention should be embraced.
