One person is dead after another shooting in Minneapolis as of Saturday morning. The shooting happened in the Eat Street neighborhood, where onlookers witnessed the incident near Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street. Footage is already going viral, showing at least four border patrol agents wrestling a man to the ground.
Minutes later, more than six shots rang out consecutively. One video shows the man lifeless following the first shot, with many on social media saying the additional shots were execution-style. Officials say more than 100 people witnessed the incident as border patrol agents ran from the scene. As bystanders continued to record, one agent can be seen clapping following the shooting.
Governor Tim Walz, who has pushed for ICE to be removed from Minneapolis, was quoted following the shooting. “Minnesota has had it,” he says. “This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
The case is still ongoing, and the City of Minneopolis is currently investigating. Officials posted on X shortly after, requesting the general public keep their distance. “We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details. We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area,” the post says.
On social media, those watching the graphic footage are expressing outrage, shock, and fear. Many are in disbelief of a second fatality following the tragic death of Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent in her vehicle. Others are already rallying, threatening to protest in Minneapolis to stop the violence against its citizens.
Public Reaction
“That is truly an execution. All those shots for someone already on the ground, killing the prime witness to ensure silence. Minnesota is going to erupt now. It’s on,” one Redditor says. “Eleven bullets in one person, how many more is it going to take for these people to realize this is unconstitutional and straight up murder,” another replies.
There’s also speculation about ICE’s internal operations. “They must all have earpieces. Because even a minute before this clip starts, ICE agents start running in that direction. From all parts of the street,” another comments. To this, another adds, “This is murder at best, as a veteran, 9 to 10 shots. This is disgusting. In addition, after a few watches, it kinda seems like one ice officer negligently discharged, and the rest drew and fired. The delay between shots is utterly sickening.”
