You might think ICE is already bad enough, but you haven’t seen the worst of it yet. In a propaganda video featuring Border Patrol Chief Gregory K. Bovino, their shamelessness is on full display. The video focuses on praising ICE agents for their supposed protection of the United States. The problem is that it also includes footage of a US citizen being arrested in Sacramento, California. The arrest is framed as heroic, when in reality, it’s anything but.
The video portrays the man as a criminal and the ICE agents as noble protectors, but that’s far from the truth. Bovino proudly declares that ICE is “securing the homeland” from so-called criminals. It sounds grand at first, but there’s a glaring omission. The man being arrested wasn’t even an undocumented immigrant. He was a US citizen.
According to ICE, the man had “interfered” with their agents. To be fair, the Sacramento man did slash the tires of the vehicles they were using. However, arresting him should have been the responsibility of local police, not immigration officers. Their job is to enforce immigration laws, not act as general law enforcement. Yet there they were, behaving as if they had the authority to arrest anyone they chose.
As the Sacramento man was taken into custody, his wife could be heard screaming and crying. One of the agents warned her to back off or risk arrest herself. She kept shouting that her husband is a US citizen, that his brother is a Marine Corps officer, and begged the agents to leave him alone. Still, the ICE agents dragged him to their vehicle as she followed, recording the incident and pleading for them to let her husband go.
None of this context appears in the video ICE shared. There is no mention of the man’s citizenship, no indication that the agents may have overstepped their authority, and certainly no acknowledgment of the emotional wreckage they left behind. Instead, they present it as another victory in the name of national security, while completely ignoring the disturbing overreach that was caught on camera and sanitized for public view.
Many internet users aren’t buying the propaganda ICE is trying to sell. People see through the illusion, recognizing that ICE isn’t about protecting America, but about spreading fear, chaos, and racism. One commenter said, “They’re killing the mama and papa America, the small businesses. They’re just lowlifes going after the weak.”
