North Carolina appears to be the next target on the list of ICE agents, and this time, they are not sticking to adults. Even children now have to be alert because ICE doesn’t consider age a factor anymore. A video on TikTok showed the disturbing sight as two officers dressed in their complete gear pinned down a young boy, putting handcuffs on him. Other officers could be seen standing in the way of locals who might have tried to intervene, a few of them even brandishing their weapons.
The clip had a text overlay that read: “ICE is illegally targeting and arresting children in Charlotte. “As they took the minor towards their vehicle, the person behind the camera shouted, “Make sure everybody let everybody know immigration is here in Charlotte.” Not surprisingly, the video sparked multiple reactions ranging from sarcasm to rage on the internet. “Republicans think 15 is an adult,” a TikToker started. Another chimed in with, “15 is too old for Epstein GOP.”
A user noted, “The constitution is now ‘concepts of a document,’” and a second added, “They treat it the same way they treat the Bible. They claim they support it wholeheartedly, but do whatever the [Expletive] they want in actuality.” Some netizens were concerned about the implications of the recent ICE activities on families and the children themselves. “Imagine your baby doesn’t come home from school, and you have no idea how to find them,” one wrote. While another noted, “This is why over 20k students didn’t show up to school in Charlotte this week. This is what they’re afraid of.”
Other users pointed out the irony of grown men getting all clad to arrest children and seemingly powerless people. “All of that tactical gear and high-powered weaponry to arrest, check notes, people not resisting in any meaningful way, and begging to be left alone,” a user added bluntly. A few resorted to name-calling, “These low IQ MAGA ‘agents’ (aka reject police officers that failed) have it coming for them. The law is clear, and these dimwits ruined their lives to push their egos.”
Sadly, the heightened ICE activities in North Carolina caused an elementary teacher to speak out about the devastating impact on his classroom. We reported that the educator identified as Tremayne Higgins had posted a video showing the very low turnout in his class. The teacher had only 10 students present in class that day. Parents decided to keep their wards out of school, terrified of ICE raids.
