Gearbox Software is looking to go all 80s neon and crime on us with its most recent event released, Revenge of the Cartels, for Borderlands 3. Today, the team has released a trailer showing off a bunch of the new stuff you can get along with the new area you’ll explore. Revenge of the Cartels is a seasonal event, occurring from April 23rd to June 4th and is free to all players. The team took to their other social media to announce the event’s release. You can play Revenge of the Cartels right now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.

Crewmate Maurice has gotten himself caught up in some shady business through his current endeavors. He’s now in debt to Joey Ultraviolet, the leader of the Eridium Cartel. Unfortunately, there are only four people who can save Maurice and take down the cartel, and you can probably guess who they are. You and your team will take the fight to Villa Ultraviolet, taking on Joey’s crew and eventually the man himself. Joey’s crew consists of multiple gangs, each of which you’ll have to take down to battle the big man himself. Will you be able to save Maurice from this mess? That answer is up to you, Vault Hunter.

To begin the quest, you’ll have to complete a repeatable quest from Maurice in Borderlands 3. Cartel Operatives are all over the galaxy, and killing them will grant you access to the acclaimed Villa. Be ready for a fight though, as their friends will be looking to avenge their fallen comrade. Once you finally make it to Villa Ultraviolet, you’ll take on one of three gangs on your way to Joey. You could fight the tech-hungry CryptoSec, the meat-loving Burnt Ends, or the Eridium dust running Purpotrators. Regardless of who you’re fighting, you’re going to have to take them down.

As you’d expect, along the way you’ll get a ton of sick loot. You’ll also get seasonal rewards too though with each being awarded for completing challenges. You could get anything from a new Echo Device skin, all the way up to a great looking Vault Hunter skin. Make sure to get in there to complete challenges for all that sweet loot. Good luck out there Vault Hunter! Will you be looking to takedown Joey Ultraviolet? What did you think of the Borderlands 3 itself? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
