Boring Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Events Can Turn Great With A Few Change

“Do I Look Civilized To You?”

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 have started, and it seems like the season launch issues of Call of Duty aren’t going anywhere soon. For starters, I got kicked from the game twice until I couldn’t enter the CoD HQ for some reason. However, when I got into Black Ops 6 Season 4, I witnessed yet another one of the Call of Duty events that’s as boring as a car alarm. Don’t get me wrong, a Ballerina and John Wick crossover event with Call of Duty makes a whole lot of sense compared to TMNT and Squid Games, but the event itself and its activities are not what the High Table demands.

It’s quite simple; almost every single Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 event is based on gaining XP. You either play the game casually, and one day you wake up and see all the event rewards are unlocked. Alternatively, you’ll have to accomplish mundane objectives. Like, “get a kill with an SMG after a slide.” Really?!

So we’re in Season 4 right now, which means we’ve passed half the Black Ops 6 lifecycle, and there’s a new event in the game. Ballerina, John Wick’s spin-off movie is on the horizon and she’s in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as an operator with a dedicated event. The event itself, however, is no different from the others. Play, earn XP, unlock stuff.

Now, instead of nagging about the situation, I have quite a few ideas that can turn these Call of Duty events into something worth your time. For starters, why not ask players to perform tasks related to the crossover in various game modes? Example: “Get 12 kills using the Pencil.” This is a reference to John Wick killing someone with a freaking pencil, and maybe they can add the Pencil melee weapon in the game for a limited time in Zombies, Multiplayer, and Warzone.

The second step is to make the event and its challenges hard enough so that the players try and fail in their first attempts. Not everyone can do what John Wick can, right? So maybe make the Pencil a 3-hit kill only? Or even better, add secrets to the game; hide the Pencil melee weapon behind different easter eggs scattered around the map, and give the ultimate prize to anyone who finds and gets a bunch of kills with it.

See? Even reading this is more fun than grinding XP by playing casually. The main issue with the boring events is that I may not even realize that Seth Rogan is in the game and he’s waiting for me to unlock everything he has to offer in his event by doing nothing but getting kills and Ws in Warzone and Multiplayer. No unique gameplay element, no fun, that’s it.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
