A shocking physical altercation unfolded in Massachusetts recently, when a Boston woman was caught on camera attempting to slap a man over a dispute involving pizza. The victim of the attempted assault retaliated, however, and struck the woman in the face. Notably, a police officer was nearby and witnessed the incident, though it’s currently unclear what came of the pair at the heart of the drama.
In a post that’s quickly gathering momentum on r/ImTheMainCharacter on Reddit, the 15-second video opens on a bustling street in nighttime Boston. Accompanying the footage is the caption, “Main character thinks she’s untouchable” and centers on a woman sporting a white, form-fitting two-piece ensemble who is hanging out outside of a pizza parlor. As she walks past a guy holding a pizza box, you can hear another person yell, “Beat his a*s! Let’s go! Whoo!” You’d think the victim may be the man holding a pizza box, but that’s not the case.
Instead, the woman walks past another man in a high-vis jacket and she suddenly throws a slap directly at his face. In retaliation, the man punches the scantily clad Boston woman and the force of the blow knocks her off balance, though she doesn’t fall to the ground. The crowd of witness can be heard erupting with “Ohhhh” as the assault occurs. For a few moments, the woman stands in shock, not knowing how to react to the punch.
However, in the background you can also see a police officer with “Boston Police” emblazoned across the front and back of his uniform, and he does seem to have witnessed the physical altercation as he calls over other officers with a wave of his hand and walks towards the woman who was punched, ending the video.
With the footage circulating online, social media users took to the comments to air their thoughts on the wild clip. One Redditor asked the question that was on everyone’s mind: “Why did she even hit the guy lmao” while the OP explains, “Apparently they were arguing over pizza“. One commenter wrote, ““I can’t believe he hit me back!”” with another chipping in with, “Spends 10 seconds on pause before trying to summon some tears.” Lastly, a fifth comment read, “I liked the part when nobody cared“.
It’s unclear whether the man or woman were charged by the police over their dangerous actions, but here’s hoping that the Boston woman learns to not throw punches at random strangers over something as frivolous as takeaway food in the future.
