Prince Harry looks to be making a return to the U.K., but royal fanatics are eagerly waiting with bated breath to see if Meghan Markle—and maybe even the other royal couple—might be joining him. That would mean Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and Kate Middleton all in one place again, all in support of the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.
Markle has yet to confirm her planned arrival in Harry’s homeland, but she has communicated feeling quite uneasy at the prospect.
Meghan Gets Cold Feet About U.K. Return
“The dates and details are being kept very hush-hush,” a source told The Express. “Both Harry and Meghan are listed as guests, and a speech has been scheduled, but there is still a question mark over whether Meghan will make an appearance. Her name has been penciled in as a TBC.”
The source also pointed out how King Charles III and Queen Camilla have been apart from their grandkids for far too long. Perhaps the Invictus Games would be an opportunity to reunite the extended family, not just the immediate heirs.
“Charles and Camilla have very good relationships with their other grandchildren, and everyone is keen for them to have a stronger bond with Archie and Lily,” the source added. “Both Harry and Meghan are keen for the children to become closer with Harry’s family, but she’s very anxious about returning to England.”
Further insiders added, “The children’s attendance is still up in the air because they will only visit the U.K. if their mother, Markle, decides to attend. Prince Harry is hoping that they will join him, so that they can all enjoy the service, and everyone can meet up with members of his family while they are over.”
Kate Middleton’s Cancer and the Next Invictus Games
As we well know, Kate Middleton recently opened up about her cancer diagnosis following a planned abdominal surgery back in January. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued a statement in full support of their sister-in-law.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement shared with PEOPLE last Friday.
The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event, similar to the Olympics, made exclusively for injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. The first Invictus Games was held in London in 2014 after The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge founded the concept.
The next Invictus Games, set to run from February 8-16, 2025, will be held in Vancouver, Canada, and Whistler, Canada.
