Look, I’m not going to sit here and lie about not liking the Twilight saga. I was one of those teenagers who loved the idea of a brooding Edward and jealous Jacob before Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner hit the big screens. However, now that the joke of sparkly vampires and teenage werewolves has come and gone, it’s time to bring back the sullenness of Forks, Washington, into the mainstream in the best way possible: with a fan-made video game.
A Twilight video game is reportedly in the works, according to several TikTok posts by user @harrietmoe, who also acts as a developer. The above video shows what the character menu would likely look like, with what appears to be Forks, Washington, in the background, with its signature gray and blue hue and Suppermassive Black Hole by Muse playing. Despite the protagonist of the series being Bella Swan, it appears that players will be able to create their own character to get into all sorts of vampire hijinks with.
There are other updates of the game, with a more detailed video featuring a female character walking through the forest. Of course, this video has Eyes On Fire by Blue Foundation appropriately playing while the protagonist aimlessly looks around the wet and foggy landscape. It’s already shaping up to be similar!
Twilight Fan-Made Game Reportedly in the Works
According to a comment by the developer, the game is going to follow a completely new story, allowing players to create a character. In response to the question, “is it gonna be like bellas story or a new thing with ur own char and new wolf/ vamp intrests?,” the @harrietmoe said, “Your own story.” However, it’s unclear if there will be a new cast of characters or if the Cullens plan on making a return.
Regardless, the game looks to actually be incredibly interesting, which looks to be using either Unreal Engine or Unity as its development software. It also appears that a great deal of effort will be going into the game, especially considering that the character options include hair, face, body, outfits, and accessories.
There is also a Discord server that fans are able to join titled Forks, which is presumably the name of the project as well. Not only is the server great for following the project, but it also acts as a hub for suggestions and feedback to be used in future iterations and playable versions of the game.
