Brad Pitt is not feeling great about how fatherhood has treated him. In light of several of his kids with ex Angelina Jolie ditching the Pitt last name, an insider is spilling the tea on how the actor is feeling defeated and wondering if he can ever repair the damage done.
According to a source, the Fight Club star is considering patching things up with Jolie amid their contentious divorce because the kids are straying away. “The kids’ dropping Brad’s name is just the tip of the iceberg,” said the insider. Back in May, the former couple’s daughter, Shiloh, legally changed her last name to Jolie on her 18th birthday. Younger sister Vivienne, 15, seems to have towed the same path. She referred to herself as just Jolie in a recent playbill for The Outsiders. Their pair’s older sons, Maddox and Pax, have long disassociated themselves from their two-time Golden Globe winner dad. All of these happenings reportedly have Pitt reflecting on his life choices.
“Brad spent a lot of time and money trying to do what he thought was the right thing for his kids, but now he’s wondering if it was worth it.”
The insider further referenced Jolie and Pitt’s ongoing battle for their shared French Vineyard, Chateau Miraval. “Miraval was something for the kids to have and build on when he’s gone, but if they don’t want it, it’s a moot point,” the source explained.
Brad Pitt Ditching NDA Requests For Kids’ Sakes
Although the 60-year-old knows things between him and the Maleficent actress can never be the same, he is not ready to completely lose his relationship with his six children. To that end, the close source claims Pitt is willing to play nice with Jolie amid their divorce. “Brad is saying there will be no more demands for NDAs,” the source revealed, according to OK Magazine.
“He’s sorry for everything that went down, and he knows he wasn’t a model husband or dad during the time they were together.”
The source disclosed that Pitt, who has been sober since the divorce filing, is trying to do better. However, he is aware that he can’t force the kids to connect with him. Instead, he will be on standby, ready to meet them on their terms. Maybe there is indeed a future where the Jolie-Pitt family will be reunited.
