Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been known to not see eye-to-eye about the majority of things. However, Pitt has finally broken his silence about their divorce being finalized after eight long years. The former couple were entangled in a drawn-out legal battle as they disagreed on some of the assets being divided between them. Although after everything is finally said and done, Brad just doesn’t seem to get all the excitement regarding their divorce.
Page Six reports that after being asked about the divorce, Brad Pitt stated that he feels a lot of “relief.” Angelina Jolie initially filed for divorce from Brad in September of 2016. Jolie wants nothing to do with Pitt anymore, as their marriage almost felt doomed from the start. Years of arguments and alleged domestic violence have led many fans from around the world to be glued to what seemed like never-ending drama. However, Pitt just doesn’t seem to understand the fixation on his personal dealings. “I don’t think it was that major of a thing,” said Pitt.

Pitt and Jolie met around 2005 as they both were on set for the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They would then become public after Brad and his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston had split. After adopting their first two children, Maddox and Zahara, around 2006, they would also have their first biological child, Shiloh. They would then adopt another child in 2007 named Pax as they rounded things out with their twins, Knox and Vivienne, in 2008.
Jump ahead to 2014, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally tied the knot. However, just two years later, Jolie filed for divorce and would then cite irreconcilable differences. In 2019, the ex-couple would be declared legally single, but their custody and financial disputes would continue until 2024.
On top of dividing assets and actually getting divorced, Pitt has not walked out of this failed marriage unscathed. Pitt has lost any kind of relationship he has had with his children. Shiloh has even gone as far as dropping Pitt from her last name and taking her mother’s. There seems to be some serious issues between Pitt and his kids. While Brad has shown interest in getting back into their lives, it appears as though that feeling is not mutual. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may finally be divorced, but it seems like there could still be more drama to come. Although for now, fans of both stars will just have to wait and see what happens next.
