Incredibly gifted voice-over artist, Brad Venable, sadly passed away this past week. Venable was known for his work in anime dubs and video games.
The tragic news was broken on social media January 8, confirmed by Venable’s wife. Although it does appear that he passed away on the night of January 7. Ever since the news, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in from many of his friends, colleagues within the industry, and shocked fans. His death came as an obvious surprise to many. At the moment of publishing, a cause of death has not been revealed.
Venable started his prolific voice-acting career back in 2004 with World of Warcraft. Ever since then his talent has been showcased in popular anime, TV series, and video game franchises. Works which you may have recognized Venable from including Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Shenmue III, as well as TV series such as Attack on Titan, Hero Mask, and Aggretsuko. However, I personally will remember him most for his roles as Griffon in Devil May Cry 5, Kostas and Nader in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and several Fire Emblem Heroes characters.
