Lately, many people have been afraid of speaking about specific topics involving ICE and the current government. However, there’s still hope out there, as some people are brave enough to stand their ground and speak out about everything that’s wrong in the country. To give you an example, one brave woman in Illinois decided to expose everything that is happening inside the Broadview ICE detention center. The truth is, the situation is much worse than we imagined, as some of the things that happen here violate human rights.
The video comes from an interview that took place recently near the Broadview ICE center in Illinois. Here, you can hear the woman talking about what’s happening inside the facility, saying a lot of things that sound like a complete violation of human rights.
She starts by saying how every single person in the facility has only one toilet that is in view of all men, women, and agents, and how a room with a capacity of 80 people is holding 200. To make matters worse, ICE also seems to keep the lights on during the day and night, which the woman considers to be a form of torture.
Speaking of torture, she also mentions how people don’t even get a change of clothes at all. She mentions that the DoC at least has the decency to give people clean clothes, which ICE isn’t doing at all. The horrible conditions don’t stop there, as it seems the prisoners only get a piece of bread with mayonnaise for lunch, and if the agents are in a good mood, they sometimes get a sandwich.
The real heartbreaking part that this lady talks about is how a lot of the people inside this ICE center go in with injuries caused by the agents who detained them. Some of them arrive and don’t even get proper medical attention, staying hurt inside while they await their fate.
Then, the interviewee talks about how wild it is to see the government giving actual criminals better treatment, where many of the people inside the Broadview ICE center don’t even have access to a shower, a toothbrush, or anything of the sort.
The words of this brave woman rallied a lot of people online who quickly praised her actions.
“What a freaking boss!” said one user.
“This person clearly knows American criminal law very well. If they are not involved already, they should be running for office, or they need to become a lawyer,” commented another user.
One of the most alarming parts of this interview is that she is right when it comes to comparing the treatment of these people to that of criminals. The latter at least get clothes, blankets, a bed, and even some personal hygiene products. And we’re talking about actual criminals. Those inside ICE detention centers are receiving an even worse treatment, which is heartbreaking to see.
