A car salesman in Alabama may be looking to score some extra commission this holiday season, and he seems to have found a way to go viral on social media. The Southern salesman, who works for a Ford dealership, was seemingly looking to unload some of the white Broncos in stock, and of course, he couldn’t help but bring OJ Simpson into the conversation. After all, the former NFL player made the vehicle famous during his 1990s murder trial.
The TikTok video posted by @mitchbyrd1 has garnered more than 400K views and over 54K likes with 900 comments. The clip starts off with the Alabama man standing outside wearing a pair of khaki pants, a collared shirt, and a blue windbreaker jacket. He poses in front of a white Bronco as he tells customers why it’s a great time to come check out one of the vehicles.
Although he never mentions OJ Simpson by name, he’s clearly referencing the former football player who became infamous in the 1990s when he was arrested and put on trial for the murder of his estranged wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
Alabama Car Dealership Uses OJ Simpson Jokes To Sell White Broncos
“There’s some killer deals on these white Broncos. I just can’t prove it,” he says in his first attempt. The video then cuts to the salesman putting on a pair of black gloves, referencing Simpson’s famous glove evidence. “If the glove doesn’t fit,” he says before sliding the glove over his hand. “Oh, this fits well, and so would this white Bronco in your garage,” he states.
“Should you buy this white Bronco? Jury’s still out,” he says while leaning against the bumper of the vehicle. However, the most insensitive joke may have been when he tells the camera, “Now this is a great deal, but don’t lose your head. We’ve got plenty for you to buy.”
The comment section was a bit divided. Most were amused by the video. “You realize you gotta be a certain age to understand that joke and we already have cars,” one joked. “He took a stab at this,” another said. “That’s great! Maybe ‘slashing prices’ would’ve worked too,” another suggested. “I’d say it’s too soon for this,” a fourth person interjected. “The gasp I just gusped,” said another.
It seems that white Ford Broncos will forever be synonymous with OJ Simpson’s murder trial, and this Alabama car salesman is leaning into the lore.
