A lot of cases have surfaced online where people have shared the strange and sometimes unsettling encounters they’ve had in and around Walmart stores across the U.S. Some are minor, involving simple disagreements between customers, but others have been far more serious cases where strangers followed shoppers to the point of making them fear for their safety. Just recently, a woman on TikTok warned Houston residents to be very vigilant after her best friend was reportedly assaulted outside a Walmart in Friendswood, off El Dorado Boulevard.
According to her, her best friend had been busy loading groceries into her vehicle, completely unaware that a man was hiding behind a nearby truck. He eventually stepped out from his hiding place and approached her to ask for her number. When she politely declined, he “pushed her into her vehicle” and assaulted her before running off into the dark.
The Suspect Was Caught on Camera
Later, when surveillance footage was reviewed, it showed that the alleged assailant had been following her friend through nearly every aisle of the store before the attack. The friend had also been with her son at the time, which makes the situation even more distressing.
The woman posted a screenshot of the suspect taken from the store’s security footage, hoping that someone would recognize him. The man appeared to be wearing what looked like a mechanic-style uniform, leading her to suspect he might work in Walmart’s automotive section or at a nearby dealership. “If you know who this is, please come forward and bring this person to justice,” she said.
Locals Respond with Concern and Offers to Help Identify the Suspect
Many Houston residents in the comments were shaken by the story and offered to help find the man. “My boyfriend works security there. I’ll send this to him and have him talk to asset protection and keep an eye out,” one person wrote. Another viewer commented, “There’s a lot of dealerships around there, so I bet he works at one of them. That looks like a Lexus uniform, and Sterling McCall Lexus is right next door to that Walmart.”
A third person added, “My husband used to work at Clear Lake Chrysler Dodge and Jeep, and they have VERY VERY similar uniforms! Please see if they recognize him there!” Someone else urged her to keep sharing any updates, writing, “If you get a better photo, please post. I hope he is caught! That’s heartbreaking.”
