Britney Spears has finally reunited with one of her sons following a years-long estrangement and speculations of bad blood. The Toxic singer, who shares two boys with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, recently bonded with Jayden James Federline. Sources revealed she and Jayden have been spending quality time together following his return to California.
The 18-year-old and his older brother, Sean Preston Federline, moved to Hawaii with their father in 2023. It was unclear if Jayden lived with his mother at her $7.4 million mansion in Thousand Oaks. However, his brother reportedly remained in Hawaii. Nonetheless, spending time with one of her sons was a blessing for Spears, with a source claiming:
“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back. Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Spears’ physical reconciliation with Jayden comes six months after he and Sean expressed willingness to fix their relationship. The siblings called the Pop singer on Mother’s Day, a gesture their father’s lawyer described as a “good sign.” At the time, the attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, noted that a reconciliation would take time. He claimed Kevin was not against his sons having a relationship with Spears and fully supported their reunion.
Kevin and the boys moved to Hawaii in August 2023 when his wife, Victoria Prince, got a job there. At the time, Spears had allegedly not been on speaking terms with her sons for over a year. Despite their strained bond, she consented to the relocation but did not see her sons before they left. A year before Jayden left for Hawaii, he addressed his complicated relationship with Spears in an interview, per Page Six.
Britney Spears’ Sons Had a Problem With Her Nude Photos
Jayden did not mince his words while addressing his issues with his famous mom in the 2022 interview. He shared that one of the reasons behind their strained bond was her Instagram updates. The teen claimed that he and his older brother disliked their mother’s nude pictures.
He painted Spears as spotlight-hungry, claiming it felt like she needed to post provocative pictures for attention. Additionally, Jayden accused the Oops!… I Did It Again singer of being biased in her treatment. He alleged that she did not give Sean “equal love” or “attention,” making him “feel really bad.” Despite these problems, he believed their relationship could be fixed, saying:
“I 100 percent think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.”
Spears’ motherhood journey began in the Summer of 2004 when she met Kevin at a Hollywood club. She fell in love with the former background dancer, and they decided to take the next step. The singer and Kevin tied the knot in September 2004, nearly three months after they began dating.
They welcomed their first son, Sean, a year later and their son, Jayden, in September 2006. But just as she rushed down the aisle, Spears shocked fans with a divorce. The Princess of Pop filed for divorce from Kevin in November 2006, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair finalized their separation by July 2007 and reached a joint custody arrangement, per PEOPLE.
