Britney Spears is no stranger to making headlines for strange reasons. This week was no different. The pop star was photographed arriving in Mexico for vacation, and she sparked concerns when she forced her bodyguard to carry a life-like baby doll wrapped in a blanket through the airport. Britney herself wasn’t seen holding the doll. However, it seems that it was her property, which led fans to have a lot of questions and comments.
According to Page Six, Britney Spears was spotted rocking a pair of shorts and an oversized black hoodie. She wore the hood up to cover her head as her long, blond hair cascaded over her shoulders in waves. The singer also covered her face with a pair of large dark sunglasses. She added some brown wedge-heeled sandals to complete the look.
It seems Spears had her hands full with her white handbag and a drink, so her bodyguard was on baby doll duty. The doll was wrapped in a pink and white blanket, and most covered by the material. However, glimpses of the toy’s face and foot were seen during the outing.
Fans were obviously confused by the presence of the doll on vacation with Britney.
Britney Spears Sparks Concerns With Life-Like Baby Doll
“When you don’t raise your children the best you can do is cling to a doll. I’d hope Sam could help her, but even that fell apart,” one person said of Britney and her ex-husband, Sam Asghari.
“At least she has some people taking care of her. I did not realize she had an entourage,” another stated.
“It’s disturbing for sure. This isn’t normal for most people, but Britney’s had a lot of trauma in her life,” a third comment read.
“Some use them as a type of therapy to help them with closure or trauma. It may actually be beneficial for her. Either way, it’s a sad situation,” a fourth person pointed out.
In the past, Britney Spears has showed off her love for baby dolls. In October 2021, the singer took to her Instagram account to show a doll and revealed that she had named the baby “Brennan,” calling the doll her first girl.
“I had a baby y’all,” Spears captioned the post. “I will be taking some time off shooting at home every day!!! Her nursery is beautiful and her name is Brennan…we even look alike. I’m turning 40 this year…age is nothing but a number. But seriously…growing up is the dumbest thing you’ll ever do so PLAY ON MY FRIENDS,” she added.
It seems that Britney Spears has a fondness for dolls. Whether they’re used as a version of therapy remains to be seen. However, while her fans may not understand the situtation, they are wishing her the best.
