The crooner released her memoir titled The Woman in Me on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. In the fast-selling book, Britney shared details about her conservatorship, family, and past marriages. The memoir also contained bombshell exposé about her life, like having an abortion at nineteen while dating Justin Timberlake and the confirmation that she married Jason only because she was bored and drunk.

The book’s release has stirred reactions throughout the media, ultimately making the notable mentions in its pages subject to media attention. One of such mentions, Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ one-time husband has now stepped forward to set his story straight. Speaking to TMZ, Jason, who tied the knot with the crooner in 2004 and divorced 55 hours later debunked her claims, urging readers not to believe whatever she wrote about their marriage.
According to Jason Alexander, contrary to Britney Spears’ claims that she never loved him, their hasty Las Vegas wedding resulted from “true love” and they were both sober at the time. Notably, their wedding officiant backed Jason’s claim in a previous interview, describing the couple he saw at the time as “in love,” with no alcohol at work.
Jason Speaks on Abortion and Racy Snaps
Jason Alexander proceeded to address another major part of Britney Spears’ memoir— Her abortion for Justin Timberlake. In her memoir, the Toxic singer revealed she had an abortion at nineteen because her then-partner Justin believed them too young and not ready. She described it as one of her most agonizing experiences. While Justin has remained mum about the subject, Jason shared his take during his interview with TMZ.
Condemning their act, Jason described it as a “horrible decision” on their part regardless of the reason behind the decision. To him, the duo, although young at the time, definitely had enough money to raise a kid. Additionally, they definitely would have been able to get help given their celebrity status and family network.
About her penchant for posting nude photos on the gram, Jason Alexander tagged it as “childish behavior,” especially coming from a mother. Interestingly, another of Britney’s exes, Kevin Federline, with whom she shares her two sons has also frowned against her skin-baring snaps, noting that it adversely affected their kids. In fact, Her nude photos are a major contributor to the star’s strained relationship with her sons. Yet, the mom-of-two remains unapologetic, revealing in her memoir that she shared risqué photos because she derived joy from posing in ways that made her “feel sexy.”
