Britney Spears is opening up about a scary home incident that almost left her face disfigured. In one of her usual Instagram rants, the singer told fans a story time of when she almost set herself on fire. While Spears hasn’t been seen with any burn scars in recent times, the Toxic singer insists the accident happened.
In the Instagram video, a “bored” Spears recalled the mishap in a bizarre British accent. She said that the fire accident happened six months ago while lighting the fireplace in her bedroom. “All of a sudden, it blew up in my face,” the songstress shared. According to Spears, the explosion had happened before, but her security usually handled it before it got out of hand. This time, however, the Womanizer songstress wanted to do it by herself, and she ended up suffering for it.
“I just threw the whole thing in there and it admittedly blew into my face and it took all my eyelashes off, my eyebrows.”
Spears showed off her short, mismatched baby bangs as proof that she lost some hair in the fire. The singer claims her bedtime companion at the time didn’t wake up even though her “face was on fire.” She further alluded to having second and third-degree burns, saying she was in so much pain. However, after seven hours of dealing with the pain, she took three Tylenol and managed to get some sleep. “It was really bad,” she concluded.
‘Britney Spears Can’t Catch A Break’ Fans Lament Over Fire Incident
Although Britney Spears closed off the comments section of the post, her fans couldn’t help but show their concern. Members of the Britney Army took to Twitter to comfort their idol. “I’m so sorry to hear that, Britney. It must have been such a tough experience. Wishing you a speedy recovery,” one fan wrote. Another concerned follower lamented, “Omg, Britney can never catch a break.” A third encouraging comment read:
“You’re incredibly brave to share this terrifying experience with us, and we’re so relieved you’re okay!”
This isn’t Spears’ first rodeo with a fire mishap. In 2020, she opened up about burning down her home gym after lighting two candles. However, sources told TMZ at the time that it was only a minor candle incident and not as dramatic as the singer portrayed.
