Britney Spears may well have worried her Instagram followers in a share uploaded to her feed last week. The pop singer, 42, shimmied around in her floral sundress for another reminder of her cute sense of style, but her caption wasn’t talking clothes.
In a bizarre reveal speaking of the “small room” she was shooting in, Britney told her fans that she’d been experiencing visual disturbances — namely, that the room had changed color for her. With comments to her Instagram disabled, Britney is shielding herself from worried replies, although fans are likely discussing the star’s mental health on other platforms. Spears suffers from bipolar disorder. While she has maintained that she is stable and in a good place, fans sometimes disagree.
Britney Spears Tells Instagram That The Room Changed Color
Filmed in a light-filled space with hardwood floors, Britney was largely in profile as she bounced her hips around and delivered a light-hearted dance.
The Grammy winner flaunted her curvy figure in a pink, short-sleeved maxi dress, going girly in florals and adding in pops of green and red from the prints. Rocking a plunging neckline as she twirled around and briefly faced the camera, Spears flashed her curves as she lifted her arms up, with a pair of strappy, black block heels completing the look.
Calls It ‘Weird’
Addressing fans, Britney wrote: “So pretty weird but while I was shooting in this small room, the room turned a tinted red over 5 times. I’m obviously 🙄 just sharing this one time … but what the heck does that mean? Am I the heart of the ocean 🌊 ??? Naaaahhhhhh but that would be NICE 👍.”
Over 100,000 fans have left a like. The post also attracted celebrity likes from close friend and reality star Paris Hilton, plus TikTok sensation Addison Rae.
Spears has a long history of worrying fans on the mental health front. The “Toxic” singer was diagnosed with the mood stability disorder bipolar in 2008. In a court statement during her conservatorship drama, the mom of two stated that her therapist forced her to take the mood-stabilizing drug lithium.
“Lithium is a very, very strong and completely different medication compared to what I was used to,” she stated. “You can go mentally impaired if you take too much, if you stay on it longer than five months.” Separately, the ex to Sam Asghari has referenced her bipolar disorder, saying: “I have always been kind of shy, since I was a little girl. It’s who I am to be modest, so I really can’t help it. I turn into this different person…seriously, bipolar disorder.”
Britney’s 2023 may have been easier than her 2021, but it did involve ending her marriage to personal trainer Sam Asghari, plus penning her The Woman in Me memoir.
