TikTok is hilarious because it showcases how incredibly niche content can gain widespread popularity. There are popular memes that, in reality, are only recognized by a small segment of the internet, making it surprising that they are considered viral or popular at all. One particular set of viral videos that has a fraction of the internet in a chokehold is a set of recent short videos by GoodShorts. Now, one of the stars of the videos, an actor and hypnotist living in Brooklyn, New York, has come online to share his appreciation for the virality.

For real tho, the love for #StraightUntilHeKissedMe has been incredible 🌈 Drop your questions below for me and @gregduffylive to answer! And eventually the two of us will get together in person to have this Q&A as goofy and fun as the show 🥰💬✨

♬ Manifestation – Perfect, so dystopian

The short videos in question are from a series titled Straight Until He Kissed Me, which focuses on the CEO of a successful company slowly falling in love with his new assistant. While the acting is incredibly campy and arguably bad at times, it very much falls in line with what people would consider to be over-the-top fanfiction in many ways. To help support the release of this series, GoodShorts released various advertisements that featured the most dramatic parts, much to the joy of fans of trashy television.

Each of these shorts has been watched by thousands of people, resulting in the actors within feeling the love on their own social profiles. Evan Gambardella, who plays the sweet nursing student Miles turned assistant to a popular CEO, went to his own TikTok profile to thank fans for the unexpected praise. Despite the community being so small, it’s clear that it’s important to have this type of content, as one of the top comments says, “Hello niche community.”

What’s really funny is that I have also been getting the same ads and have been hooked on the story of Miles and Hunter. Another one of the top comments recognizes that this might be the case for a ton of people, saying, “The fact that I recognized you immediately made me reflect on the past two days.” Hopefully, Evan is able to continue getting more acting work, because I have to say, I really like getting those advertisements while scrolling throughout the day!
