Die Hard star Bruce Willis‘ recent health update has his family and friends heartbroken. The actor’s health has reportedly taken a turn for the worse, leaving his loved ones fearing that they may not have much time left together.
For the past two-plus years, Bruce has been bravely battling aphasia, a brain disorder that has robbed him of his ability to communicate. Months following the diagnosis, the actor was hit with another devastating diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. Despite these challenges, Bruce Willis and his family have shown remarkable resilience, banding together to make the best of a heartbreaking situation.
Unfortunately, it seems that the actor’s disease is becoming worse, and the family fears the worst. Sources close to the Willis family tell InTouch that Bruce’s condition “has progressed to the point where his family worries they may not have much more time with Bruce left.”
Bruce Willis’ Family Make Actors Last Days ‘Peaceful & Safe’
The family insider says that Bruce Willis has taken a bitter turn for the worse. The actor now spends his days mainly at home and needs around-the-clock care.
“He rarely goes out, but when he does it’s a carefully orchestrated operation,” explains the source. “He needs help getting ready and getting to the car.
“Bruce has caretakers with him “24/7 who supervise him and make sure he’s OK and doesn’t get confused or flustered,” adds the source, noting the actor “has bodyguards to buffer him from the public.”
Bruce’s entire family spends as much time with him as possible, cherishing every moment together. His current wife, Emma, and their two young daughters, Mable and Evelyn, keep a close bond with Bruce’s oldest daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, granddaughter, Louetta, and his ex-wife, Demi Moore.
The loving group of women share a unique relationship, prioritize tending to Bruce, and make each moment together a special and loving memory. Sadly, per the source, they must also make peace with what will come.
They fear that Bruce’s health is beginning to decline more each day, and the actor, 69, may not make it to his 70th birthday in March. It is hard for his loved ones to see the strong, independent man they once knew change drastically. “It’s heartbreaking for the family to see him so vulnerable and dependent,” says the source.
Despite the sadness, the family vowed to make whatever time Bruce Willis left as loving and comfortable as possible. “There’s painful days. But there’s so much love,” claims Tallulah Willis. In the end, that is all anyone can ever really hope for.
