As Bruce Willis‘ health continues to decline, numerous changes have been made to help accommodate and navigate the care of the Die Hard star. It has been a major challenge for the entire Willis family, especially his devoted wife, Emma Heming Willis.
Emma Willis has cared for Bruce Willis since his 2023 FTD diagnosis. Sadly, there is no cure, and his health is declining. With so much responsibility, friends fear the burden may become overwhelming.

Bruce Willis’ family has provided steadfast support. Emma, 47, has remained by his side from his 2022 aphasia diagnosis through his progression to frontotemporal dementia.
The condition has impacted Bruce’s personality, speech, and movement. Emma and her family have remained steady while managing his care, though friends say she now rarely takes time for herself, and it is starting to show.
While Emma is not alone when it comes to Bruce’s care, she prefers to carry most of the load herself. As recently reported, Heming was forced to make her most difficult decision yet regarding Bruce’s care. She recently decided to move him into a nearby one-story home.
Emma Willis Makes Tough Call Regarding Bruce Willis’ Care
The home is staffed with a 24-hour care team, which ensures Bruce is safe, while allowing Emma and the girls to maintain some sense of normalcy. It wasn’t a choice she made lightly, but one made out of love.
Emma Willis has faced alot of public backlash following the move. Globe insiders admit the commitment has taken a toll on her. “Emma has been an absolute saint through all this. Not only has she devoted herself to taking care of Bruce. She’s been a complete rock for everyone else. There’s a real worry that she’s doing too much and could collapse under the strain of it.”

Between caring for Bruce Willis, her children, and her career, Emma Heming has a full plate. Because there is no cure for FTD (frontotemporal dementia), life expectancy ranges from 3 to 7 years following diagnosis. Even though the Willis family has accepted that Bruce will never get better, Emma refuses to give up. She spends her days and nights committed to ensuring Bruce is comfortable and as happy as possible.
Those closest to Emma worry she’s running on fumes. Friends believe that if she doesn’t slow down, she could reach a point where she’s no longer able to care for Bruce. Or be fully present for their daughters. They insist this isn’t the kind of life Bruce would want for the family he loves so much. The hope now is that Emma will allow herself the chance to rest and recharge before the pressure pushes her past her limit.
