I know, it’s the modern era of the internet, and it is so easy to write about negativity and stories that further separate everybody and divide us even more than most politicians and social media seem to revel in. Love thy neighbor, no matter who you are and where you’re from. This is an admirable saying to live by, and every so often, a story of positivity and love for your fellow human shines through. A Black woman in Buffalo, New York, demonstrated this by performing a massive act of kindness towards a white woman who was a stranger to her in a loving manner.
In a video shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, by user Dom Lucre, breaker of narratives, a heartwarming and uplifting video showcases a superb act of kindness that shows there can be a lot of good between all of us, regardless of the color of our skin.
In the video, an Uber driver from Buffalo named Lamiyah picked up a woman named Diane, who is struggling and works at a Tim Hortons fast food establishment. After hearing about her financial struggles, she doesn’t bother picking up another client. Instead, she heads to some shops, asks women of a similar size to Diane, and then buys her clothing and a gift card.
She then returns to Diane’s job, and gives her the clothing and gift card while she is at work, and buys her a church dress, and a Visa gift card so she can buy herself shoes and a robe instead of saving money and waiting for Christmas. It’s a heartwarming moment, and it just shows how much a small moment can have a significant impact on a person’s daily life and morale.
Many comments raved about the good deed and shared positive sentiments that brought people together, rather than tearing them apart.
