Have you ever wanted to construct a new roadway by absolutely destroying everything that would dare be in its path? Well, soon you can! Please Fix the Road, an upcoming roadway-building puzzle game from indie developer Ariel Jurkowski, has released a new trailer alongside announcing the game’s release window of June 2022. You can check out the new trailer below.
Please Fix the Road goes for the simplest aesthetic and premise possible, requiring players to simply construct roads through different locations using tiles. Starting from the simplest of placing a few pieces, you quickly escalate that into full-on destroying parts of your scenery to make room for your commuters. With over 150 different puzzles for you to solve, you’re sure to find a steady stream of both puzzles, and difficulty increases as you bend the landscape to your will. Though while you do destroy plenty of greenery, the game ensures you assist boaters and animals to still make your roadways liveable for whoever, or whatever, may be conducting its business nearby.
All of this in Please Fix the Road is presented in a simplistic, minimalist style that allows bright colors to pop during the trailer. It’s almost reminiscent of Lego Builder’s Journey, though obviously with a much different presence than what that game is aiming for. Displayed in an isometric look, everything seems realistically placed but displayed with a simplicity that conveys a casual nature, with a game that seems like it’d be great to use to kill an hour or two in between doing other things. Hell, even for five minutes perhaps on a lunch break or something like that.
While we’re still a month out from the release of indie Please Fix the Road on both Steam and GOG platforms, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on any new trailers and news coming from the developer. For now, what are your thoughts on this roadway-building puzzle game? Will it be something you look into? Let me know!
