The Playstation Network saw some surprise releases today. Classic Rockstar titles Bully and Manhunt have been released on PS4 as PS2 classics and XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus has snuck its way onto PS Vita.
This is a surprise because these releases were not advertised. Bully and Manhunt will set you back $15 while XCOM is being sold for $20.
For those who don’t know, Manhunt is a stealth-horror game where players take down their targets in brutally horrific ways. The over the top nature of the game and the way it depicts violence made a lot of waves upon its official release. Bully, on the other hand, is one of the few T rated games released by Rockstar. Step into the shoes of James “Jimmy” Hopkins and wreak havoc around Bullworth Academy. You can attend classes, fight bullies, the pull of pranks and break down the cliches that have sprung up around the school. Both games have also seen boos in resolution and now run in 1080p. This smooths out edges and generally makes these old titles run better. Both are incredible games and are welcome additions to the PS4’s library.
XCOM may be the most surprising of the three stealth releases. The original XCOM: Enemy Unknown released in 2012 to critical acclaim. XCOM 2 came exclusively to PC earlier this year and expanded on the tension-filled extraterrestrial battles that made the first game so fantastic. We don’t know how the Vita version differs from console versions of the game, but early reports show that the load times are slightly longer but the core gameplay has transitioned smoothly.
You can purchase Bully and Manhunt on PS4 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus on Vita right now.
