A California hibachi review took an unexpected turn after a routine stop at a 7-Eleven ended in a tense confrontation with another customer. A video that has since gone viral appears to show the man accusing the creator of filming him before lunging toward him while holding what appears to be a pen, leading to a brief scuffle inside the store.

The clip was shared recently by a California food creator, whose online handle contains explicit language, but he often refers to himself as Saltine. In the video, the food reviewer is shown inside a California 7-Eleven as he prepares a Japanese-style meal at a vending machine. Another customer, who appears to be playing the lottery in the background, seemingly believes the reviewer is filming him instead. The misunderstanding quickly escalates, with the customer saying, “Please don’t record while I’m here, please. [Expletive] off, bro.”

Calmly, Saltine replies, “I’m just doing a food review. He’s recording me.” However, the man remains unconvinced and continues insisting that the review should be taken outside. While preparing his meal, the reviewer slips into a faux movie trailer voice and jokes, “Sir, I’m only eating my food. The greatest hibachi bowl in Hollywood. You’re not gonna win the $900 million because I already won it. You’re [expletive]. It sounds like you’ve been playing the lottery for 20-plus years.”

Suddenly, the man playing the lottery lunges toward the reviewer while holding what appears to be a pen, prompting the reviewer to grab him by the wrists to keep him at a distance. “I’m not recording [expletive]. I’m just messing,” the reviewer says. The man continues shouting profanities and threats at Saltine, who fires back, “You’re [expletive] crazy, boy! This guy’s an idiot.”

After leaving the store, the creator explains to his audience what had happened, saying, “He came up talking to us. I was scared of the pen that was in his hand. I thought he was gonna stab me.” Despite the confrontation, Saltine still finishes his review, giving the hibachi meal a perfect 10 out of 10.

Social Media Reactions

The confrontation quickly drew reactions across Instagram and Reddit, where many viewers sided with Saltine and joked that the misunderstanding escalated far more than it should have. Several people believed the reviewer’s lottery joke was what pushed the customer over the edge. One Instagram user wrote, “You really stroked a nerve when you say you look like you been playing for 20+ years 😂,” while another added, “Telling him about the power ball L pushed him over the edge lol.”

Others focused on different parts of the clip. One Instagram commenter joked, “Cameraman wasn’t worried about [expletive] besides the review 💀,” while a Reddit user pointed out the irony of the confrontation, writing, “‘Get your camera out of my face’ – Man who puts own face in shot.” Another simply admired the reviewer’s narration, commenting, “That voice is insane!”
