California Democrat Scott Wiener Booed Out of San Francisco Trans March: ‘They Always Turn on Their Own’

The call is coming from inside the house.

As Republicans continue to eat their own over a slew of policy disagreements, Democrats have seen their own party splinter, as evidenced by California‘s treatment of a Democratic Senator at a trans march.

Despite being a longstanding supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, Senator Scott Wiener was harassed and eventually kicked out of San Francisco’s Pride festivities on June 26, 2026. While acknowledging that the Senator has fought for their community, the attendees told him to leave due to his stances on other issues. Wiener’s housing policies and stance on what’s happening in Gaza were chief among attendees’ complaints, with the latter seeming to be the main source of ire.

The clip has been widely shared on social media, including X, where the comments section swiftly split into two camps. Some agreed with the Pride event’s attendees, writing comments such as, “Thank you for this, but you were still too easy on him. Period. Thank god for the hecklers around, they were much more forthright,” and “He got what he deserved.“

However, many expressed concern that the political party is harming itself by pushing people out. As one person wrote, “You guys are gonna get a Republican elected, and you’re gonna deserve it.” Another echoed, “They always turn on their own.”

Meanwhile, others voiced amusement at the fact that the individuals in the clip managed to get people to feel sorry for the controversial Senator. Comments directed at the OP included sentiments such as, “Never thought I’d be voicing support for Scott Wiener, but you are a loser for this.“

Wiener himself has responded to the incident with an X post. He shared that this is not the first time something of this nature has happened to him, but this particular incident forced him to miss the trans march for the first time. The Senator clarified that he welcomes people disagreeing with him, but draws the line at harassment. He concluded, “In San Francisco, we’re better than that.“
