When you work at a motel, you’re going to experience some wild things. You never know who your next customer will be or what they’ll request, which keeps life interesting. But one woman who works at a Motel 6 in California never expected a potential guest to go full Karen on her. The reason? She was denied a rental because of some things she said and did before she could even sign for a room.
Susie (@hernandezfire805 on TikTok) shared a video titled, “Just another day at the Mo!” While working another day at the local Motel 6, Susie never expected that she would run into the Karen of a lifetime. After she refused service to the Karen, who was looking to rent a room, she returned with a vengeance. She demands, “What is your name?” to which Susie tells her. Then, the Karen immediately asks her, “Okay, are you here illegally? No?” Keep in mind this woman is speaking with a Filipino accent the entire time, so literally why is this any of her business? Susie just laughs because she can’t believe the outrageousness of this conversation.
Susie then tells the Karen that she’s been placed on the Do Not Rent list at that motel. The Karen asks her, “Yes, what is your reason?” At this point, Susie shows an entire list on her video. We, the viewers, can now see what crimes this Karen is accused of. They include lying, not having a proper ID, and pouring out a jug of actual urine in the parking lot. She then apparently told Susie that it was mango juice… what?!
When she doesn’t get results, the Karen pulls out the “I am a lawyer card.” She tells Susie that what she’s doing is actually against the law, even though I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have a clue what she’s talking about. The Karen starts to walk away after announcing that. Susie jokingly says, “I didn’t know you were a lawyer! Please come back!” The Karen doesn’t respond because she’s too busy harassing another co-worker. Susie tells her, “No, just sue me. Not her. She has children.”
In the end, Susie tells the Karen that she needs to leave. This doesn’t actually make her leave and she continues to argue, telling Susie, “This is not your property.” Susie takes the berating lesson from the Karen, who basically tells her she’s going to have her fired. She ends up telling the Karen, “Have a good day” when she finally leaves the building. Working in customer service, you truly never know what you’re going to get.
Many people have had their fair share of encountering Karens at work. Another commenter called her out on her lies, “She’s a lawyer trying to get a room at a Motel 6?” One commenter pointed out, “I could give three reasons why I wouldn’t rent to her just by listening to this video.” She was definitely a walking red flag and they probably avoided a lot of drama by refusing that rental.
