Sometimes, a minor incident can spiral into a full-blown argument, especially when a Karen is involved. That’s precisely what happened recently in California when a couple were confronted by a woman in a parking lot over a possible car door ding. Unsurprisingly, the woman didn’t take it well and erupted into a meltdown, all captured on video by the couple. Ironically, she wasn’t the victim; her five-year-old daughter was reportedly the one who dinged the other car.
The video opens in a parking lot at night, and sees the Karen in question, sporting a black top and black pants, angrily confronting the couple who are recording the incident. “You’re harassing the [expletive] out of me!” yells the woman, though the person recording calmly replies, “I didn’t harass you. I told you not to hit my car.” The woman continues to loudly shout, “My daughter opened the car door. How hard can a five-year-old do something to your car? Do you think it’s okay for him to speak to me like this when I’m on my own with a one-year-old and a five-year-old? It’s not okay!“
The couple attempt to defuse the situation, and reply, “You don’t have to yell.” To this, the California Karen retorts, “He doesn’t have to harass me. How hard can a five-year-old hit his precious Mazda?” In a bid to inject a little levity into encounter, the man corrects her with, “It’s an Acura.” which sparks some lighthearted laughter amongst the couple. A few moments later, the woman yells, “I don’t appreciate being harassed, in the dark, by a man, when I’m on my own, with my kids.” though the man responds, “I’ve got my kids, too.” Notably, the woman’s California license plate suggests the incident took place in California.
The video quickly drew reactions from viewers online. On Reddit, one commenter wrote, “If she’s so scared of a man why is she trying to fight him?” while another chipped in with, “A woman… On her own… With her kids… Whom she left unattended in a running vehicle 🤔 did I get that right!?” A third netizen penned, “She came so close to hitting that pole, my heart sank a little when I saw that. So close“.
