To many coffee lovers around the globe, Starbucks is essentially a home away from home. Not only does it offer a great selection of hot and cold beverages, but its focus on quality, along with its warm, welcoming atmosphere is arguably second to none. Recently, a California man was not best pleased with his Starbucks drink order, and was caught on camera having an unhinged meltdown. The ugly footage is circulating online right now.
In the 42-second clip, captured by a witness at the scene of the incident, you can see a customer wearing a grey vest, black shorts, and black sandals as he angrily throws his beverage across the counter top of the Starbucks. He then proceeds to pick up a large container of milk, and he carries it over to the opposite counter to hurl its contents at one of the Starbucks employees.
Next, he heads towards the exit, but before he leaves the premises, he picks up a final item — which appears to be a box of serviettes — and tosses it at the workers causing a loud crash. As he goes to leave, he yells a final, “F*ckin’ b*tch!” at the Starbucks employees.
The incident doesn’t quite end there, however, as one of the workers instructs the person recording the ruckus, “Get his licence plate!” This spurs the cameraperson to rush up to the window to capture footage of the California man’s licence plate. Once inside his blue Ford vehicle, the man almost reverses into the car behind him as he hurriedly makes his escape. One of the witnesses watching on can be heard exclaiming, “He’s gonna crash!” Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to make contact with the white SUV behind him, but it’s very close.
Across social media, the video is making the rounds, and netizens couldn’t resist chiming in with their thoughts. On Reddit, reactions condemned the California man’s dangerous crash out. “Bro NOTHING about Starbucks is that serious” wrote one, while another chipped in with, “I went through the drive thru and ordered a chai latte and the barista said I’m sorry we don’t have any chai syrup at this time so I ordered a different drink. When I got to the window, she gave it to me and said it was free. And I said I can pay for it, it’s not going to kill me not to have a chai latte this morning and she said you wouldn’t believe how people react when we don’t have something. It made me sad……. If this sets you off then what does the rest of your day look like”
A third commenter was amused by the final part of the footage, writing, “The struggle of getting out of their spot was the cherry on top.” A fourth remark championed the cameraperson’s filming skills, penning, “A+ to the camera person. The zoom on on the license plate was chef’s kiss.” A further commenter confirmed that the licence plate was indeed from “California“.
Honestly, I can’t fathom ever getting this mad over a cup of joe. I know minor conveniences can be slightly annoying sometimes, but there’s just no reason to ever get this angry in public over something so minor. Ultimately, it’s just a bad look all round, and makes everyone feel a little bit uncomfortable.
