Guests at a backyard party in California were left in shock after one man had an unusual interaction with a bear that crashed the party. While everyone panicked and scrambled for safety, the man took a diplomatic approach with the bear. The interaction caught netizens’ attention and left them with mixed feelings.
The California Bear Was An Unwanted Party Guest
In a video that have garnered millions of views across several social media platforms, the man from Lake Tahoe, was filmed ushering out the huge black bear. The man dressed in a tank top and blue shorts gently shooed the bear while other party goers maintained a distance. People could be heard urging him to be careful as he appeared unbothered.
The party crasher continued to walk towards the exit until it got to the gate, at which point the situation became scarier. The bear suddenly stopped, refusing to move further. However the man continued to speak gently, asking it to leave. Suddenly, it raised a huge paw and struck him at the waist. Guests could be heard exclaiming as they continued to warn the man. “Hey, no,” he chastised the bear, while pointing a finger at it.
Despite the attack, the man remained calm, and gently opened the gate. The bear eventually walked out of the California party as everyone around cheered the man for the brave act. Towards the end of the clip, he raised his tank top showing the deep claw marks left behind. Social media users received the viral clip with mixed reactions. While some praised the California man’s bravery and calmness others thought he was wrong for risking his life.
“That was really brave. Admirable,’ someone wrote on X. “That is one of the dumbest thing(s) that I have ever seen,” one person stated. “Thank God he closed the gate behind the bear. That was close!” another added.” Although bear attacks are rare in the United states, the numbers of attacks recorded are from black bears, according to the North American Bear Center. Therefore it is safe to say that the man got lucky.
