Sometimes, the best way to get your point across to large groups of people is to sing it. That’s what punk bands have been doing for years, right? Well, one California man is using music in a very creative way as he confronts ICE. In recent months, ICE’s prevalence in California has put many people up in arms. The deportations are getting out of control and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. As such, this man is sticking it to ICE agents the best way he knows: through song.
Robby Roadsteamer (@roadsteamer on TikTok) protests what he believes through song. He shares numerous videos of his singing on social media and the response is typically hilarious. Whether it’s at a Trump protest or a women’s rights march, there are many occasions in which Robby has said what he needed to say through song. In a recent video, Robby sings his song “Epstein Plane” to ICE to the tune of The Village People’s familiar “YMCA.”
Robby approaches soldiers and ICE agents while singing off-key, “F**k ICE! Get the hell out of town! F**K ICE! Get the hell away from the brown!” As he sings at them with his microphone, they just stand there, looking stoic and trying their best to ignore him.
Another shot shows him singing a new verse to a crowd, “Donald Trump was on the Jeffrey Epstein Plane!” The crowd around him sings along with him, cheering and laughing. It’s clear that things are getting as lit as a real concert by his supporters. The ICE agents, however, are clearly not amused. They think they’re just doing their job but, unfortunately, their job involves being racist and kicking people from their homes.
One commenter, clearly impressed by Robby, asked, “Do you do weddings?” Robby replied to them, “If ICE is getting married then yes.” Another person proclaimed, “The crowd singing along fills me with patriotic feelings.” Other commenters agree that Robby needs to continue what he’s doing and he needs protected at all costs. We definitely need more people who are going to stand up for what’s right in their own, unique way. That’s how you make a difference, with humor or not.
