A man in Los Angeles, California, found that his parked Tesla had been hit by another vehicle. Upon checking his cameras, he identified the culprit: a woman who can be seen leaving, only to park just feet away from him.

Jeff Forman shared his parking lot story online. He is a content creator who often shares lifestyle posts with his nearly 200,000 followers on TikTok alone. This time around, the unexpected collision went viral, garnering 1.2 million views, 117,500 likes, and more than 500 comments.

The California man explained that he had parked his car at Whole Foods. After shopping, he was approached by another man, telling him that he had Jeff’s car’s exact color in case he needed some color correction for the damage on the back of his car. Confused, Jeff didn’t know what to make of that offer. After all, he had already fixed his car from a previous incident he was involved in.

However, when Jeff got out of his car, he noticed that the back was dented and scraped. Someone had damaged his car while he was inside Whole Foods. Upon checking his car’s cameras, he noticed a driver in a Prius who had attempted to park right next to him. The driver failed, and instead of sticking around, she decided to leave the area. Or that’s what it seemed at first.

Jeff began looking for the driver and found that she had parked at another slot in the same parking lot. She never left. The man waited for her to come back and, in a follow-up, he ended up confronting her about hitting his car and leaving without waiting for him to return. It took her more than two hours to come back to her car.

Social Media Reactions

The video sparked a range of responses online, mostly from viewers who understood the gravity of the situation. One said, “That’s a hit-and-run. That’s a misdemeanor.” Another one commented, “Get a police report and call your insurance. She should have never left.”

Others were glad Jeff’s vehicle had cameras, which made identifying the driver much easier. One wrote, “All cars need cameras. I’m tired of these people who can’t park.” Another one agreed, adding, “The cameras are awesome. I wish all cars had this feature!“
