Anyone needing more proof that Neo-Nazi parties are back on the rise needn’t look further because some of them have presented themselves proudly. One of them is even running for governor in California, and his name is Republican candidate Kyle Langford. Langford recently went viral on social media after he posted his solution for unemployment in California: Nazi concentration camps with gas chambers, similar to those found in Auschwitz.
It’s real and it’s not satire. Back on July 25, California’s Republican gubernatorial candidate, Kyle Langford, posted a photoshopped smiling image of himself in front of the Auschwitz concentration camp with the caption “My 0% Unemployment Plan 📄🏭🇺🇸”. He has also replied to critics who thought he was joking, clarifying that he is, in fact, serious.
It’s not clear how Langford plans to fix unemployment with his suggestion. Still, he likely means putting minorities and unemployed people in Nazi Auschwitz-style concentration camps and gassing them to death. Hence, many people have labeled the Republican candidate as a Nazi himself, given his preference for methods and ideologies exercised by the Nazis back in WW2.
Consequently, the Auschwitz memorial’s authorities themselves have criticized Langford for his insensitive post since the former Nazi death and concentration camp now stands as a monument to the Jews murdered and tortured during WW2.
“The instrumentalization of the tragedy of all those imprisoned and murdered in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz for political messaging is a profound moral failure. Auschwitz is not a prop. Your post is an affront to the dignity of the victims and a disturbing display of insensitivity and disregard to horryfying human history,” according to the Auschwitz Museum
For those who are unaware, the Auschwitz concentration camp is among the largest of the Nazi death camps in WW2, where 1.1 million of the six million Jews killed by the Nazis were murdered using gas chambers. Almost all of them were civilians and innocent people.
Kyle Langford is Also a Catholic
Thanks to his post and his actual seriousness regarding the plan, Langford has been called a fascist and a Nazi on X/Twitter, something he wholeheartedly welcomed. It’s worth noting that Langford is still running under the Republican Party for California’s upcoming gubernatorial election.
On Kyle Langford’s page, however, he also detailed his plans to restore California to its Catholic foundations, regardless of how those Nazi death camps would factor in. Langford is certainly not the only Catholic Nazi/fascist to emerge, as another right-wing Republican also recently outed himself.
Meanwhile, many people are thankfully pushing back against Langford’s plans and labeling him properly. Some, however, have pointed out Langford’s lack of originality as Trump and ICE’s Alligator Alcatraz might have already cashed in on the whole death camp idea for minorities.
“Trumpy is already doing that with Alligator Alcatraz. Come up with something new,” suggests SkyeMreddit
“These f***ers just love outing themselves as massive Nazi POS. And zero consequences so far of course 🤦,” frowns hereforthelearnings
