At a California airport, a woman was flagged by a TSA agent, which led to a pat-down. The pat-down, however, was described as a straight-up “gynecologist” appointment, given the invasiveness of its method and the reported inexperience of the agent. While the story was portrayed as hilarious, many thought of it as concerning.

I’m going to need a #tsa personal to comment on this matter…. Thank you very much 🔥🙃 Also shout out to @Tampax US, you make such a great product it gets flagged by security 🤣 Not sure what that means, but it feels secure! ♥️ #storytime #fyp #airport #lol

TikToker ChaosWithChloe (Chloe) was the one who shared the weird TSA experience online. She wasn’t the one getting the pat-down, but rather a friend of hers with whom she was traveling. They were at the John Wayne Airport in California at the time, and while Chloe passed through TSA without any issues, her friend wasn’t so lucky.

Not only was her bag flagged, but her body was too, for some reason. A young female TSA agent told the woman that the issue was with her “undercarriage.” Chloe explained, “It’s beeping, it’s all lighting up on the screen.”

Chloe’s friend, who was wearing yoga pants, was surprised by this. She, however, was fine with the pat-down and even refused an offer to go to a private area to perform it, thinking it was going to be a normal procedure.

With people “streaming in,” the pat-down began. From the get-go, things got particularly weird, with the California TSA agent telling Chloe’s friend to “spread them,” referring to her legs. While standing like “Patrick Star,” Chloe described what happened next as being at the “gynecologist“.

“You’ll feel my touch,” she recalled the agent saying, while bursting into laughter.

Unconventional Pat-Down, Reactions

The TSA agent began to palpate the zone, and suddently noticed something odd. She asked Chloe’s friend about it after squishing it, and she told the agent it was her “feminine product.” Turns out, she was on her period at the time, and she was wearing an “overnight Maxi pad.”

Still, the TSA agent didn’t understand and said she needed a “second opinion.” At first, she sought the help of a male TSA agent, who was visibly uncomfortable with the request. Eventually, another female agent came and quickly dismissed Chloe’s friend, saying that she was fine. This agent, as per Chloe, was embarrassed by the whole situation.

“What’s wrong with you?” the new TSA agent told the other, younger one. In the end, Chloe’s friend’s experience at the California airport ended with her needing to change her pad. Apparently, the agent had squished too hard.

Chloe was laughing during her whole 5-minute clip, which went viral, garnering millions of views and more than 200,000 likes. Some users were laughing nonstop, and even Tampax US commented, “We are traumatized.” However, others were concerned by how the pat-down was performed, calling it inappropriate, to say the least.

“Am I the only one who doesn’t think this is funny?” one user asked. Another one commented, “No, but this makes me angry…what a violation.” A third one wrote, “I know you’re laughing… But this feels fully unacceptable.”
