It’s no surprise that racial conflicts are as prevalent as ever within the USA. Race-based public arguments have sadly become just as common as so-called Karens caught on camera. Yet people who consider themselves to be in the racial majority are the ones who usually find themselves posted on TikTok for spewing their hateful remarks. People don’t catch racism between two minorities on film as often. That’s sadly not the case for one California woman, who recently dealt with bold racism from a dark-skinned man.
The female, who’s known on her TikTok as @2dolledupg, was out with her Mexican family in downtown Riverside, California when a man yelled out racist remarks. She pulled out her camera and started recording, at which point the male dared to turn back around and repeat what he’d said to the camera.
She had this to say about what she experienced:
[I]t’s a shame to see our own people calling us illegals… I didn’t stay quiet… [T]his man right here most likely has a mother (or) father who also isn’t from this country.
The woman went on to report that the man had brown skin too. At one point in her video, she even zoomed in on his face and told him, “You’re Mexican too.”
She let viewers know that her California family members usually wouldn’t speak up, too scared to defend themselves.. Yet she wasn’t about to take something as important as unconcealed racism with a grain of salt.
On September 26th, she posted the video clip of the racist on what seems to be a new TikTok channel. Regrettably, she received backlash and even more racist remarks in the comment thread.
Riverside California Racism Sparks Shocking Debate
Many viewers pointed out that the man was, in fact, not a Mexican. Some thought he looked to be Native American. Others just outright defended him, claiming that, first and foremost, he was an American, whereas her parents were not.
Regardless of the man’s true race, he still has a lot of real hatred towards strangers he met in a store. It’s something he seems proud of, and something that can’t be ignored. It’s also no secret that Riverside, California, happens to be very ethnically diverse. If he can’t keep all his racist thoughts contained while in public locations, he can’t expect that strangers will just let it slide.
