Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not have a single player campaign for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
The official Call of Duty blog outlined why the past generation consoles will be lacking features.
“The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”
Other than the single player campaign, the game will be missing the new Weapon Paint Shop, and new eSports tools. These features will be exclusive to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
However, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will still feature multiplayer and all of its perks.
“Delivering the best possible gameplay experience on all platforms is always our highest priority. With that in mind, Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 players can continue to look forward to a new experience of Black Ops 3 multiplayer, including the new momentum-based, chain-movement system, as well as the all-new Specialist class of 9 Black Ops soldiers, which fundamentally change the way players engage in combat.”
On top of that, it will offer the new Zombies mode called “Shadows of Evil,” which will have a 1940‘s film-noir inspired theme.
For those that are buying the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Black Ops 3, can get the game for $49.99 USD; cheaper than the current-gen counterpart. The game may also feature a bonus downloadable copy for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, depending on the region.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to launch on November 6, 2015.
