Dataminers leaking the title and details of the next unannounced Call of Duty game has become an annual trend at this point. Last year, for example, Call of Duty 2024 was uncovered almost as soon as the release of MW3. This time around, we have early intel on not one but three upcoming Call of Duty titles! If these leaks prove accurate –as they most often do–, we might be reserving seats for a Ghosts 2 and another Advanced Warfare after 10 years.
According to a post by Insider Gaming, Call of Duty 2025 will directly follow the story of Black Ops 2, bringing David Mason on the scene after 12 years. This means we quarrel with Treyarch’s Zombies and beat Black Ops Campaigns for two years. However, the games that come after in 2026 and 2027 are the shocking news here.
Call of Duty Is Leaking Ahead of Reveal
A data miner named Visceral on X has leaked some info about the upcoming Call of Duty projects. These leaks have Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games working on their next Call of Duty titles in 2026 and 2027, but none of them are direct sequels to the current Modern Warfare 3.
- Project Saturn by Treyarch Studios – A direct sequel to Black Ops 2.
- Project Deliwood by Infinity Ward – Rumored title: Ghosts.
- Project Anvil by Sledgehammer Games – Rumored title: Advanced Warfare 2.
The year 2025 is when we’ll get detached from the Black Ops and Modern Warfare games. The leaks show the title Ghosts 2 for Call of Duty 2026, which will create a huge hype for those hoping that the developers will one day bring closure to that unpleasing cliffhanger in CoD: Ghosts from 2010.
2027 is the slot saved for Sledgehammer Games to release its next Call of Duty title. And out of nowhere comes the Advanced Warfare 2! Not Vanguard 2, not Modern Warfare 4. This might be the chance for the studio to redeem itself after the infamous releases of Vanguard in 2021 and MW3 in 2023.
By the sounds of it, Call of Duty is brewing some pretty nasty potions for the upcoming years. This roadmap promises a big return for CoD, which might end up in another overhaul in Warzone for major changes. But, as always, take all this leaked info with a grain of salt. Nothing is confirmed, and nothing is official.
For all we know, the next Call of Duty title will be announced on June 9, 2024.
