One of the notable announcements in the Black Ops 6 reveal event was about Zombies getting the round-based mode returned, while also teasing the Gubblegums as part of the upcoming Call of Duty‘s gameplay. The Gubblegum system is there to bring back the special abilities in addition to Perk-A-Colas in Black Ops 6 Zombies mode, and it’s been once again teased by Call of Duty on TheTruthDies website with a new video on channel 4.
The clip on the official Call of Duty’s X shows Mr Peaks sitting on presumably a Mystery Box, inviting users to reach out to the TheTruthDies website. Yesterday we had one teaser showing Terminus Island and the Liberty Falls outbreak in flashes, and now, here comes the Gubblegum teaser for Black Ops 6 Zombies.
The teaser starts with another one of those classic 90s vibes and then crashes into a scene showcasing a Gubblegum machine. The machine is probably featured on both maps, but it’s yet to be announced. Also, there is no official info on obtaining these items in the game.
Black Ops 3‘s implementation of the Gubblegum system wasn’t the greatest. Players paid real money to achieve these items in Zombies, only to lose them after using them once. There was a glitch for keeping them, but will it be the same in Black Ops 6?
Currently, the MWZ items are not separately buyable, but the blueprint gain mechanism is one of the very few shining stars of MW3 Zombies‘ abandoned desert. So, if players can easily earn the Gubblegums by progressing through the game and completing challenges, it’d be a huge step forward for Black Ops Zombies as a whole.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, 2024.
