Cheating has always been an issue in Call of Duty multiplayer games. But now Activision has devised a very creative new method that should make finding cheaters a lot easier. The new anti-cheat method in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 involves causing players to hallucinate during online matches. This information was shared by the Call of Duty anti-cheat task force, known as Team Ricochet. Once this goes live, cheaters in Call of Duty will encounter these realistic hallucinations. These are specifically created to resemble actual players using data generated by others in the same game. The strategy aims to outsmart cheaters without causing even more problems for people who aren’t cheating.
Cheaters Will See Double When Playing Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Online
The idea is that these illusions will show up close to suspected cheaters at any given moment during online play. If a cheater reacts to one of these fakes, it essentially serves as an admission of their use of cheats for the purposes of Team Ricochet. And the developers will ban anyone who engages with the illusions.
It is important to emphasize that genuine players are thankfully unable to interact with or see these hallucinations. Let’s hope that the execution goes well, and non-cheaters don’t start seeing specters during online play.
This whole anti-cheat system comes as a response to Treyarch’s acknowledgment in April, prior to the disclosure of this new initiative. The company believes that its progress in combating cheating may have fallen short of players’ expectations. And this makes sense, as countless players have stopped playing Call of Duty precisely because of the pervasive use of cheats. With the introduction of these hallucinations, the anti-cheat measures will hopefully work. And all things considered, this is something that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 really needs. Activision recently caused a stir within the community by announcing that players will soon bid farewell to the original Warzone.
