Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has released its first live-action reveal trailer, probably showcasing one of the main villains of the game, Saddam Hussain. This was literally teased in the Black Ops 6‘s thumbnail image on YouTube, while the Call of Duty blog posted a different featured image for the reveal trailer. Due to the quick change of this image, it was probably a mistake by Call of Duty. Nonetheless, we’ve got our first look at Russell Adler in Black Ops 6.
A Call of Duty story set in the 90s following the events of the Cold War is the closest thing to the return of Russell Adler. He’s been one of the core operators within the Call of Duty universe since the Cold War, and his interactions with Mason and Woods make him even more special. Now, in a new image, you can see Adler’s first official in-game rendered footage below.
The pro-CIA agent is returning, but we’re still in an empty room for what he’d be up to in the new Black Ops story. Sure, with Saddam in the game’s teasers and the live-action trailer, we bet that the game’s narrative is focused on the Gulf War. But what does Russell Adler have to do with this war in Black Ops 6?
The best to assume here is that Adler will be leading covert missions and classified operations in Iraq. However, he’d need trustworthy allies, and with Mason, Hudson, and Woods out of the picture, who could be that right hand? Judging by the live-action trailer, Bowman’s son is probably joining the gameplay in Black Ops 6, and Frank Woods is somehow playing a role in the game, even though he’s paralyzed.
Fortunately, we’ll get answers to most of our questions about Black Ops 6 and its story no later than June 9. The reveal event held by Xbox and Activision is believed to feature trailers and info about Black Ops 6‘s Campaign, Zombies, and even the Multiplayer alongside the official release date for the title.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released in late 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
