Some of the best things about recent RPGs is the ability to give characters a new look depending on their equipment. As a series, Final Fantasy is known to have some fantastic outfits for its characters, which, sadly, sometimes don’t change. In the case of the latest entry, there are many things to discover and equip that give Cliver certain bonuses and an edge in combat. While these are good things, many players worry more about the looks. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to change armor in Final Fantasy 16 and the effects it has when playing.

Before we start, we should note that equipping certain armor pieces won’t affect Clive’s look. This might be bad for those expecting a change of look and armor in Final Fantasy 16. Yet, many games of the series have been like this in the past. If you want to equip new armor, go to the main menu, head to the Gear tab, and equip the armor in the corresponding slot. As mentioned, this won’t affect Clive’s appearance but will give him certain stat bonuses when fighting.

Are There Outfits in the Game?

Going back to the topic of looks and changing armor in Final Fantasy 16, many gamers wonder if there are outfits or any cosmetic options for the characters. So far, no options exist to change Clive’s look freely. Anyone coming from Final Fantasy XIV or even Final Fantasy XV might not like this idea, but that doesn’t mean Clive’s appearance doesn’t change. The story sees Clive in different stages of his life, where he has different outfits. This is great as it shows the character’s evolution and adds something new to every part of the story. It is uncertain if the developers will add outfits in future updates, but we hope they do.

That’s all we have on how to change armor in Final Fantasy 16. While it doesn’t give this game’s protagonist a new appearance, it is important to look for new pieces of armor to provide Clive with more protection. Given how fast-paced this game is, it is crucial to have good stats when facing some of its most challenging enemies. So, don’t be afraid of exploring this new map, and as soon as you find new pieces, remember to equip them to get an edge in combat.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now on PlayStation 5.
