This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Cosmetics and how armor is shown can feel like the most important part of a game, and you’d be right to think that. Personally, I love being able to design a character because I know that I’ll be able to physically see them a lot. If there’s a helmet in the way of their beautiful head, what was the point in all those hours spent sculpting it? Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 let you hide your helmet?

Unfortunately, there is no way to hide your helmet in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Though there are several different options when rifling through your armor, none of them allow you to hide your helmet while still wearing it. After equipping a helmet on yourself or your Pawn, you’ll have to wear it continuously to reap any of its benefits. You can always remove it if you want, but then you’ll be naked from the neck up.

How To Remove Your Helmet

To remove any armor piece in the game, including helmets, you’ll need to go to the Item menu in the Pause menu. Here, select any of the armor pieces you wish to remove or equip. A drop-down window will appear that will allow you to Remove/Equip the armor, Give, or Discard it.

Where to Get Helmets

You don’t start Dragon’s Dogma 2 with a helmet. They can be purchased from merchants like Armorer’s in big cities. It’s also possible to come across helmets in the overworld when opening up chests. However, the only way to guarantee that you’ll be using helmets and armor that are beneficial to you is by purchasing them. They’ll only cost you a couple thousand gold, no big deal.
