Fans the world over are finally getting their hands on the long-awaited Diablo 4. For the first time in franchise history, this entry is launching at the same time on both consoles and PC. While this is great for everyone looking to play on release, those with Macs might still be a little uncertain. While more and more titles have been coming over to the platform, not all do – or only come later after launch. If you’re hoping to do your part to cleanse Sanctuary from the demonic forces in Diablo 4 on Mac, here’s what you need to know about your options.
Is Diablo 4 on Mac?
In short, no. Diablo 4 is not officially being sold on Mac. The official platforms you can get the game on are PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. This leaves all Mac users out, unfortunately.
There is a workaround to playing Diablo 4 on Mac, though it isn’t terribly simple or without some issues. The more difficult is to install Windows onto your Mac. This isn’t an easy process and is hard to get running very well, so isn’t ideal for playing an ARPG like Diablo 4.
Another method to play Diablo 4 on a Mac is to use a streaming service rather than playing the game locally. Diablo 4 isn’t currently on any game streaming service like Amazon Luna or GeForce Now yet but is likely to be not too far in the future. If you really can’t wait, you can subscribe to a service like Shadow PC which allows you to stream an entire high-end PC. Once you’ve set up an account, you can stream this PC, create or log in to your Battle.net account, and purchase Diablo 4 to start playing on Mac. All of these streaming options will be a worse experience than playing it locally due to the nature of streaming and internet speeds, so we highly recommend getting the game on any other available platform if at all possible.
