Roblox has been the go-to game and platform for most, with its millions of daily players and endless creative offerings. Just by logging in to the website or launcher, players can find many unique experiences that connect people like no other. From fanmade ones like Blox Fruits and Anime Defenders to official releases like One Piece Grand Arena and Sonic Speed Simulator. It’s similar to how Nintendo also offers a one-of-a-kind experience and very social gameplay with its Switch hybrid console. It’s no wonder fans keep asking if you can play Roblox on the Nintendo Switch or not.
Is Roblox Available on the Nintendo Switch?
As of 2025, Roblox is still not available on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Store. Despite frequent rumors and speculations, no announcement has been made by Roblox Corporation or Nintendo to bring the platform to the hybrid console.
For now, there are currently no official alternatives for those who are hoping to access Roblox on the Switch. Unlike other consoles or mobile platforms, the Switch also lacks a built-in browser or app store that might allow users to sideload Roblox.
Its absence is rather surprising, given its massive popularity and the Switch’s status as a family-friendly gaming system. Like Minecraft, Roblox thrives on creativity and social interaction; a perfect match for Nintendo’s audience.
Nevertheless, it took 10 years for Roblox to be playable on a console since its debut in 2006. In 2016, the Roblox app was eventually released for the Xbox One and Series X. Then it came to PlayStation 4 and 5 seven years later in late 2023. Those things considered, there are still chances of Roblox being released on Nintendo Switch or the Switch 2 instead.
However, if you count yourself tech-savvy enough — and own an original Nintendo Switch, not Lite or OLED — there is an unofficial workaround. You can actually install Android OS on a jailbroken Nintendo Switch and play Roblox on it thanks to the Switchroot Android 10/Q homebrew. With that, you can comfortably play Jailbreak or Blox Fruits on the console like you do on a Samsung phone.
If you installed Switchroot correctly, you can easily switch between Android and the Nintendo Switch OS. The Android OS should not replace the original operating system as it is installed on a partitioned SD card. Simply reboot the console every time you need to move between OS.
While you can’t play Roblox on the Nintendo Switch right now, as proven above, the gaming landscape is ever-evolving. Who knows, maybe both Roblox Corporation and the Mario company will announce something later this year.
