American actress and producer Candace Cameron Bure has taken out time to address the backlash about her traditional marriage comment concerning the Great American Family (GAF) network. The 47-year-old star before now told the Wall Street Journal that GAF wouldn’t include same-sex couples in leading roles.
She mentioned that the network will “will keep traditional marriage at the core.” Being the chief creative officer of the Great American Family, she also feels the need to return the concept of “Christ” in Christmas movies.
Her comment was welcomed by many with a bat in hand, including celebrities like JoJo Siwa, Hilarie Burton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. However, the “Full House” alum, Candace Cameron Bure, has come forward to address and respond to the backlash stemming from her traditional marriage comment.
The star is blaming the media and calling them out for always seeking to divide people. She also disclosed that she’s a devout Christian who loves everyone.
Candace Cameron Bure Addresses Traditional Marriage Backlash By Calling Out the Media and Declaring Love for God
Candace Cameron Bure, a mother of three, addressed the traditional marriage comment backlash about her network on her social media a few hours ago. She pointed out that everyone close to her is aware of how greatly she loves people.
It breaks her heart for people to think that she would intentionally want to hurt anyone. Then she spoke about the media not helping things.
According to her, the media often seeks to divide people, and Christmas is a merry topic they could have easily left out. However, she’s not surprised, given the “toxic climate in our culture right now.”
Next, Candace Cameron Bure indicated that she’s a devoted Christian, meaning that she believes everyone bears the image of God. Her heart yearns to bring people a step closer to God.
Candace also told the media that even though they tried to use this opportunity to increase the flames of conflict and hate, she loves them regardless. Disclosing that she has always wanted a home for faith-based programming, the actress is grateful to God as she’s an integral part of the Great American Family.
The actress wants to run the network based on the Christian faith. But, like most projects, criticisms are bound to emanate. Managing criticisms properly can be challenging, but therein lies success.
