Candace Cameron Bure has never been shy when it comes to her views and beliefs in life. The former Full House star has often used social media as a platform to speak out about being a religious woman in Hollywood, and hasn’t batted an eye at the hate she often gets for her comments. However, this week, the actress has really raised eyebrows and sparked debate after sharing her views about horror movies.
On the latest episode of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, the former child star tells her listeners that she has banned any and all horror films from playing in her home. This is because she finds something “demonic” about the genre and is worried that they will open a “portal” for evil.
“I don’t even want someone watching a scary movie in our house on the TV because to me that’s just a portal,” Bure, told her podcast guests, son Lev Bure and Pastor Jonathan Pokluda. “Listen, I’m in the film industry. I understand how it all works. However, there’s still something that can be incredibly demonic while they’ve made it, and I feel like it’s a portal that gets opened up and let in,” she continued.

Candace went on to reveal that her family will sometimes poke fun at her beliefs on the subject, revealing that her son Lev is often “rolling his eyes” at her thoughts.
“I feel like you guys make fun of me … particularly when I’m serious about a spiritual thing happening,” she told her son. “Like the portal. They laugh at me because of the portal.”
After Cameron Bure’s comments about a possible demonic portal opening in her home through horror films, the internet didn’t hesitate to share their thoughts.
“I’ve banned Candace Cameron Bure movies in my house because they’re a portal to Candace Cameron Bure,” one person joked via Reddit.
“She’s lost it,” said another.
“She seems like a stable and well-adjusted person,” a third person wrote.
“She’s decided to catch up to her brother I see,” a fourth comment read, referencing Candace’s famous older brother, Kirk Cameron.
Of course, many of the actress’ fans agreed with her thoughts, and continue to support her openess with her spiritual journey.
Candace Cameron Bure has often been bashed online for sharing her beliefs with fans. However, it appears that she has no qualms about continuing to spread her message. Whether or not fans want to agree or poke fun at her doesn’t seem to matter to the actress.
