Capcom has confirmed that the free-to-play side-scroller Mega Man X DiVE will officially be ending service later this year. The publisher will be ceasing operations on Sept. 27, 2023. In the meantime, the company states that players can still enjoy the game prior to the shutdown. Players will be able to ask clarity questions in a stream held on the evening of June 7.

Mega Man X DiVE is a free-to-play action side-scroller first released for Android and iOS devices on March 24, 2020. It was soon ported to PC via Steam on Sept. 15, 2021. Developed by Capcom Taiwan, the game is set in cyberspace that crosses over several characters and elements from across the Mega Man franchise. The game has seen over 1 million downloads on Google Play since launch.

Capcom clarified that the ceasing of operations for Mega Man X DiVE will specifically pertain to the Taiwanese and Japanese versions of the game on iOS and Android, as well as the worldwide version on Steam. The iOS and Android versions distributed by Nebulajoy in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Korea will remain online indefinitely for players in those regions.

The game will be hosting a series of events for players to commemorate the game before the shutdown.

In the lead-up before release, daily logins net players one Elemental Supply Box and one Dark Code Coin. The “True. Favorite” capsule option has been introduced as well, allowing players to get one free draw per day and get a guaranteed S-rank character. The Armaments factory event will be held every two weeks leading up to Sept. 27. The Dark Code Store event will also be held regularly, and the yield of Dark Code Coins from a Dark Code Capsule will be increased substantially.

At 16:00 UTC on June 7, 2023, a formal announcement will be made on the closing of operations for Mega Man X DiVE. All direct purchase items will be removed at this time, and the game servers will officially shut down on September 27, 2023, at 12:00 UTC. Capcom Taiwan will make another formal announcement in the future regarding the treatment of the remaining pad Elemental Metals players may have purchased.
